Morgan Amalfitano - Signs new deal!
What does he have to do to start a game?

How far would you go for a start if you were him?

Would you give fatty a back-rub or offer Nolan/Sam some light relief as clearly footballing ability is irrelevant in this situation.

13/03/15

'West Ham United are delighted to announce that French midfielder Morgan Amalfitano has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Club from Olympique Marseille in the summer, is now on course to play his part in the Hammers’ final season at the Boleyn Ground and the first at the new Stadium in 2016.

It is a project that Amalfitano is proud to be a part of, after making an encouraging start to life in Claret and Blue.

“I am pleased,” he told West Ham TV. “It's the culmination of a good year. We're always trying to do our best and so I'm very pleased to have signed for two more years.

“I think I've impressed the management, I know that I can always do better and I hope to do so. I'll give it my all as I have done in the first eight months.

“I've not had a chance to see the Olympic Stadium yet but apparently it's a very, very beautiful Stadium. So I'm very pleased to be a part of the project and I always want to please our fans, as much as possible.”

Amalfitano has made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers this term and announced himself to the West Ham faithful in style, netting on his home debut in a memorable 3-1 win over Liverpool back in September.

All three of his goals to date have come in home wins, as he bagged the opener in a 2-1 success against champions Manchester City and doubled the Hammers’ lead in January’s 3-0 win over Hull City.

He could yet celebrate his new contract with an appearance at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, having now served a three-match ban for his dismissal at West Bromwich Albion.

The Nice-born midfielder is understandably keen to return to action and hopes Saturday’s London derby will mark the start of an excellent end to an excellent campaign.

“It's been a little while that I couldn't play and it's been a little bit frustrating,” he confirmed. “So it's a pleasure to get back out on the pitch and play games. I've trained as hard as I possibly could in these past few weeks and now I'm ready for Saturday.

“We need to get back to winning games and it's down to us to rally ourselves to win the next games and hopefully that will start against a great team in Arsenal on Saturday.” '

Song and Amalfitano did more in the time they were on than the rest of them put together did in the whole game

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
Been saying this all season. Him and sing should have 2 places nailed down. He never lets you down, looks dangerous, works hard and can pass, cross and finish. Nolan ticks nine if those boxes now - I cannot understand how he started today

Me and my brother having been saying this for months. Fucking quality player. Gutted for him actually.

Song, Downing, Amalfitano, and fit Noble is my preferred midfield. Kouyate tends to get caught With the ball more than Noble.

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
Kouyate Song and Downing with either Noble or Amalfitano and with Song at the base Morgan just shades it for me

This is what most people on here have said since september.

BFS is a snidey cunt leaving him and zarate out on behalf of Nolan

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
If that was the only change he made he would have made us a better side in the first half. One change Amalfitano for Nolan different performance

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
He's a attacking player that is handy in the final third, I don't think he's suited to tracking back and making tackles as a central midfielder.

If we play with wingers, I'd rather him wide right than Downing.

- Nolan

Simple really

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
It's a shame as he'll probably leave at the end of the season. It's hard to justify Nolan playing in front of him.

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
Faint praise but he's better than Nolan and that must be clear to anyone.

He'll make more tackles than Nolan.

Unlucky with hitting the post, thought Di Canio was back for a minute, needs to start v Le Arse.

Agree with majority of fans. Blind loyalty to Nolan is costing us now. His age and lack of natural athleticism have caught up with him at Premiership level. Plain for all to see (well objective observers any)

Re: Morgan Amalfitano
It's too hard for BFS to leave out Nolan. They go back so far together, all the way to the glory days at Bolton. He's emotionally committed to Nolan.

It's amazing that a manager can be so myopic, but even the best of us have biases.

camel-with-3-humps 5:43 Fri Dec 26
Re: Morgan Amalfitano
As for poor old Morgan, he must be totally dejected.

He's got a touch of skill about him. Even if Morgan didn't make a single tackle, he'd still contribute more than Nolan defensively who can't get the tackles in because he's a fucking oil tanker.

To see a lard-arse bag of cement hopelessly lumber around the pitch is hard enough. But to be left out for somebody so painfully shit, well, that must leave Morgan weeping at night.
